Superintendents – Base Building and Renovation

A Superintendent’s duties include open communication with the project team; coordination and scheduling of the project; and providing a supporting role for preconstruction services. Superintendents observe and interface with subcontractors to monitor work performance, progress, and productivity of trades. Superintendents are liaisons between engineers, subcontractors, and architects to ensure construction compliance with drawings and specifications. A GCS Superintendent leads jobs with strict adherence to OSHA standards and continual awareness of jobsite safety.

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 6 years of experience as a superintendent for a general contractor doing base building, tenant, or residential high-rise construction. Candidates must have proven written and verbal communication skills, proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite, SureTrack, and Primavera, leadership and interpersonal skills and knowledge of construction cost control.

 

Construction Safety Officer

Qualified candidates shall possess a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a construction related field and have at least 2 years of construction experience or relevant safety and health experience with an emphasis on construction. Additional requirements include: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, strong interpersonal skills, a thorough knowledge of the commercial construction process, demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local regulations applicable to GCS’ operations.

Key responsibilities will include establishing and maintaining compliance with all safety, health and environment laws and regulations issued by federal, state and local agencies and corporate policies, identifying training needs in order to develop and implement safety awareness initiatives that improve safety performance and meet regulatory requirements and designing and implementing metrics to monitor progress and effectiveness of safety initiatives, programs, policies, procedures and processes.

Will assist Project Team with adhering to company safety and loss control policy. Responsibilities will include overseeing and working on construction projects to identify, eliminate, and control hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and or property damage using job specific safety standards, best management practices, and injury free environment techniques.

Construction Cost Engineer

Qualified candidates shall possess a Bachelor’s degree (in construction, architecture, or engineering) and have at least 2 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, preferably as an Assistant Project Manager. Applicants should have an understanding of construction processes, a strong financial aptitude and business sense, the ability to analyze change order costs and a strong understanding of financial cost reporting for construction projects. Additionally, candidates should be able to prepare financial analyses for projects and must be proficient with Excel. All candidates must be hard working, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple priorities.
