Project Description: Phased scope encompasses transitioning whole of Woodrow Wilson High School campus into state-of-the-art academic and thriving community center. Phase 1 entailed construction of new Aquatic Center addition to replace existing pool facility. It features Olympic-sized competition pool, wellness/leisure pool, whirlpool, spectator seating, locker rooms, administration, and pool support areas. Construction of pool and pump room required 15-20′ excavation attached to

existing high school mechanical plant and auditorium, including sheeting/shoring and deep foundations (caissons).

Sustainable features include unique pool dehumidification/HVAC system that recovers heat for pool/air tempering and a rooftop photovoltaic panel array.

Phase 2 is transitioning main academic building into a dynamic, new central “Crossroads Courtyard” atrium space. Existing 1970s Gymnasium building being transformed into new state-of-the-art Visual and Performing Arts Center with 800-seat auditorium and black-box theater. Existing auditorium, power plant, and rose garden being transformed into new athletics center to feature main gym with full-size competition court and cross-court practice courts, auxiliary gym, and fitness center.
